In het BAMB project werken 16 partners uit 8 Europese landen samen met 1 missie: het creëren van circulaire oplossingen voor de gebouwde omgeving. Nog steeds eindigen te veel bouwmaterialen als afval als zij niet langer nodig zijn. Enkele nadelige gevolgen hiervan zijn: het vernietigen van ecosystemen, het verhogen van milieukosten en het creëren van schaarsterisico's. Om een ​​duurzame toekomst te creëren, moet de bouwsector evolueren naar een circulaire economie!

Het Buildings As Material Banks project is gestart in september 2015 en heeft een loooptijd van 42 maanden; het wordt financieel ondersteund door het EU Horizon2020 programma. Booosting bestuurslid Elma Durmisevic zet zich als architect en docent al jaren in voor een duurzame maatschappij en bouwsector. Zij is een van de initiatiefnemers van het BAMB project. Op 3 mei a.s. vindt in Brussel de lancering van het BAMB Stakeholder netwerk plaats. Er zijn enkele plaatsen beschikbaar voor Booosting aangeslotenen.

It is essential that BAMB tools and products are useful and applicable across the building supplychain. The knowledge and experience our stakeholders own is essential for BAMB so we are actively seeking feedback, opinions, input and participation from all stakeholders who would like to be involved.

The key is value
Through design and circular valuechains, materials in buildings sustain their value – in a sector producing less waste and using less virgin resources. Instead of being to be waste, buildings will function as banks of valuable materials – slowing down the usage of resources to a rate that meets the capacity of the planet.The project is developing and integrating tools that will enable the shift: Materials Passports and Reversible Building Design – supported by new businessmodels, policy propositions and management and decisionmaking models. During the course of the project these new approaches will
be demonstrated and refined with input from six pilots. BAMB project started in September 2015 and will progress for 42 months as an innovation action within the EUfunded Horizon 2020 programme.

Material Passports
Material Passports will provide the necessary information about materials, products and components for their circular use and the support of reversible building design. Within the project, 300 Materials Passports for various products, components or materials will be developed together with a softwaresolution.

Reversible Building Designtools
The Reversible Building Designtools will inform designers and decisionmakers about the transformation capacity, re-use potential and the impacts of designsolutions during the conceptual designphase.
